Easily one of my most used-resources. I have two copies of the ELF framework printed, one at home on my desk, and another in a binder in my classroom at school. There are few textbooks that I kept from university, but the ones I did keep are not about curriculum or subjects, they are all about behaviour and how to create an inclusive environment. I kept the textbooks about gift pupils, and how to interact with parents and guardians. I kept the resources that gave examples of how to be a great educator. Both the BC ELF and the Theory to Practice companion document have been extremely useful in my studies of early childhood education.
The BC Early Learning Framework has fast become a staple resource, used in every ECEC program across the province. Many provinces have now developed frameworks as a way to look at development more holistically. What are some of the ways you have used the BC ELF in your classrooms? How do the reflective questions in the framework help to guide your practice?
